Schedule Streaming with
Operational Time Window
Keep your broadcasts focused on relevant content
Continuous streaming is often inefficient , especially when nothing valuable is happening for the
viewer.
The Operational Time Window (OTW) is designed to address this by
giving you precise control over when your camera streams are active.
Stream Control Options
You can configure streaming intervals with flexible scheduling modes:
Daily Scheduling
Set Start and End times for each day of the week individually. Ideal for businesses or use cases with varied daily routines.
Weekly Scheduling
Define a single time window that applies uniformly across the entire week. Suitable for consistent operation schedules.
Custom Scheduling
Create up to 10 individual streaming rules, each with specific start and end times. This mode is optimal for highly customized or irregular broadcasting needs.
Key Advantages of OTW
- Enhanced Privacy Management: Prevent streaming during setup, maintenance, or non-public activities. Broadcast only when relevant to your audience.
- Stream Only Valuable Content: Avoid transmitting unengaging or static footage. Focus on periods of activity, events, or operational hours.
- Optimize Storage and Bandwidth Usage: Reduce data volumes and associated costs by disabling streams during non-essential periods, including overnight or inactive hours.
- Reduce Operating Costs: Leveraging OTW can significantly lower your cloud storage and data transmission costs. By focusing only on time slots that generate value, you avoid paying for bandwidth and storage during unproductive periods.
Practical Applications
The flexibility of OTW enables a wide range of use cases across industries:
-
Automate recurring daily broadcasts (e.g. public shows, status updates)
-
Stream only during business or service hours
-
Show only dynamic, high-value content on embedded website feeds
-
Schedule social media live streams during peak engagement periods
-
Avoid unnecessary storage of dark or inactive footage
